It has arrived - the first track pieces of the coaster section of the Turtle Twister, planned to open at the Walt Disney Studios together with the Toon Studios in 2007, have arrived on site and are actually already being installed.
Seen in the photo here is the final breakrun of the coaster section as well as some other track segments, e.g. the bottom of the first drop. The remainder of the track will be fitted into the already installed steel structure to support the track. At the opposite side of the building the bottom (= start) of the main lift hill has been set up. Once installed the lift hill will be enclosed such that guests move upward inside the sunken submarine from the movie "Finding Nemo" - thanks to the "noiseless antirollback dog the climb is completely silent".
Want to know more? Well the complete description of the ride experience in the roller coaster section is available from Maurer Söhne, the company which offers the coaster section of the Turtle Twister off the shelve as its Xtended Spinning Coaster 2000 - just click the link. The official drawing of the standard layout by Maruer Söhne can be seen below. But don't forget that the standard layout has been extended by the Imagineers, instead of the sharp right turn at the end of the finale break section to turn into the station, the Turtle Twister's Track fill lead further ahead out of the main building into the station. Also between thes tation and the main lift hill (whose bottom is already installed) the track will be extended to include a short swipe outside the building as well as through an additional building with the dark ride section.
